A well-known figure in yachting has joined GX Superyachts. Maurizio Magri is the new chief commercial officer plus a board member, focusing on customer care.

“Young yacht brands often struggle to make their voices heard above other, more established names,” notes Vladimir Zinchenko, the builder’s founder (below left). Notably, he says, the team hasn’t experienced this. “On the contrary, we have been overwhelmed by the degree of interest in our sleek, efficient hybrid yachts,” he says. “This is why it made sense to recruit an experienced yachting industry leader to help us move sales to the next level.”
Magri has four decades of experience across a variety of yachting brands, along with companies in other maritime sectors, like defense and energy. He spent 11 years with CBI Navi, for instance. He has headed sales at Mangusta, Admiral Yachts, Tecnomar, and Wider Yachts within the past 20 years, too. “I am very excited to be leading sales at GX Superyachts, which has made such a splash in its first year,” Magri says.
Among his first duties are assisting clients interested in the builder’s models. Those models include the GX42 yacht series, which will see hull number one complete next summer. The raised-pilothouse design, the flagship for the shipyard, is currently in the outfitting stage. Additionally, GX Superyachts has the GX8 Voyager yacht, for adventure-seeking owners. It just introduced this design at September’s Monaco Yacht Show. Notably, it sprang from a client request for a superyacht capable of navigating in ice and challenging weather.
Magri is based in Monaco in a new office for the shipyard.
