Flamingo Room by tashas is one of those places where before you even taste anything, you’re already in the mood. Nestled within the iconic Jumeirah Al Naseem, this spot is more than just a restaurant. The venue is situated over Jumeirah Al Naseem’s turtle lagoon, with views of the calm waters and the horizon of the Arabian Sea, which sets a tranquil. The decor is lavish, playful, feminine, elegant. Expect interior such as blush pinks, soft corals, pale peach tones. One of the show stopper is the sculptural ceiling installation that resembles a giant orchid. If you appreciate spaces that combine glamour, color and nature (water views, green touches), this place delivers strongly. Food here has been fresh, flavourful and instagram friendly. The kind of dishes that make you pause for a second just to admire the plating before diving in.

There are terraces (outside seating) overlooking the lagoon for those who want air and view of the calm water. Stepping into Flamingo Room feels like walking into pastel world. Zebra prints, cheetah prints, leafy motifs, elegant marble flooring and ornamental greenery. Tall windows that let natural light pour into their spaces. Some of the chairs are quite low in seating compared to general standards, not sure if everyone is comfortable that way.

Before anything arrives, the ritual of fresh bread with butter appears. The homemade breads are served warm and pillowy in texture. The butter also comes stamped with a flamingo. Taking that first tear of that dense bread was comforting. The butter lightly salted, melts easily into this homemade bread.
Among their playful yet sophisticated mocktail lineup, one that immediately caught my eye (and taste buds) was the Flamingo Room mocktail(raspberry, cranberry and lemon) mocktail crowned with raspberry foam. A stunning mix that’s as elegant as the restaurant itself. The first sip was a burst of balance along with a zesty kick. It celebrates fruit in its pure layered form, sweet, tart, and refreshingly light. it’s visually elegant and feels luxury in every sip.

tuna / miso & yuzu / avo / lemon / soya / garlic chips / sesame seeds / macerated apricots

Starters
Both starters were a masterclass in balance and creativity. These were dishes that make you pause and really taste. Tuna Tartare was silky with a melt in your mouth. The tuna felt fresh and perfectly complemented by the bright yuzu and lemon. Every bite felt clean, elegant and well composed.
BUTTERNUT CARPACCIO was like sunshine on a plate. The colours pop and the plating is absolute beauty. Thin ribbons of charred butternut laid out like petals, each piece caramelised just enough to bring out its natural sweetness, sprinkled with pumpkin seeds and juicy pops of pomegranate. It was both light and indulgent, sweet and savoury. A true celebration of texture and contrast.

Mains
The short rib was fork tender, braised to absolute perfection. It practically melted the moment it touched the fork. The meat gravy was deep, rich and glossy. The cute carrots and pearl onions added a good balance to the meal. The CORN & BURRATA RAVIOLI was like pillowy centers bursting with creamy burrata and naturally sweet corn and fresh truffle just enough to be aromatic. It was earthy and oh so satisfying. The shavings of fresh truffle, elevated the taste to the next level. Probably one of the best Ravioli you can find.

Desserts
Both desserts were show stoppers in their own way. The Baked Alaska was bold, rich, and dramatic, perfect if you want something indulgent and unforgettable. The Mille Feuille was delicate, fruity, and refined.
The Baked Alaska dessert is a must try for the experience. The dark chocolate ganache was intense. Hidden underneath was a perfectly airy chocolate sponge cake stuffed with sweet sticky caramel. The thick vanilla semifreddo brought a cool creaminess to the experience. The whole dessert is inside a gorgeously torched meringue. It was pure dessert theatre. You definitely need more than one to finish it.
The Mille Feuille on the other hand is the opposite, It came elegant and delicate. The layers of golden, caramelized pastry were so crisp they almost shattered with a fork. Sandwiched between them was a velvety luxurious feeling diplomat cream and fresh raspberries. The ice cream that came with it was unbelievably fresh. This dessert was refined and refreshing.
