Although her official announcement came last year, these are the first glimpses of the Abeking & Rasmussen yacht 6516. A still-confidential megayacht on many fronts, she has made her way to the shipyard’s outfitting sheds.
In fact, the photos capture her journey as tugs towed her from Poland, where construction began, to Germany. Abeking & Rasmussen relied on G+K SteelCon, which manufactures aluminum and steel components for a variety of ship- and yacht builders, to start the work. (On a related note, it’s common practice among several European shipyards to sub out hulls and/or superstructures.)
Following the keel-laying ceremony in 2024—shortly after Abeking & Rasmussen celebrated its 117th anniversary—the shipyard revealed few facts. Firstly, the Abeking & Rasmussen yacht 6516 measures 263 feet (80 meters) in length. Secondly, “a well-known UK-based design office,” in the shipyard’s words, is collaborating with the owner. It didn’t elaborate as to whether the design was exterior styling or interior design, or both. However, according to the builder, the look and feel throughout the interior should be contemporary and cozy.

No further details are available, including the name of the project. The numerical reference is her hull number.
Notably, the arrival of the Abeking & Rasmussen yacht 6516 comes nearly one year to the date after the keel laying. The ceremony for the latter took place on November 26, 2024, with the owner’s representatives and the yard’s subcontractors among those witnessing it.
