The southwestern tip of Anguilla has been in development most of the year to create a new destination for superyacht owners and guests. Port Nimara is additionally set to become a vacation destination on land, thanks to a deal with Equinox Hotels.
Coming to Anguilla for megayachts, the Port Nimara marina will have 118 slips. A variety of sizes to 240 feet (73 meters) will be able to tie up. (This is a slight change from the original plans, for yachts to 260 feet/70 meters.) Crew facilities and a yacht club, along with shops and restaurants, will round out the marina’s amenities. Nearby, owners and guests can take advantage of an 18-hole Greg Norman golf course and tennis courts.
When groundbreaking began, the developers announced an unnamed 62-room luxury hotel with its own beach and beach bar. They revealed plans for beachfront villas and hillside residences, too. Equinox will brand the hotel, the 35 hillside homes, the 18 oceanfront villas, and a further 18 upland villas. Altogether, the hotel and residences will form Equinox Resort Anguilla Port Nimara.
Notably, the Port Nimara marina will be a port of entry, with customs and immigration services on site for yachts. The developers and Equinox want those arriving by yacht and superyacht to enjoy all amenities as much as the residents. They especially point to the Equinox Club, an all-day-dining option with what they call “indulgently healthy food in a lively social scene.” Since wellness is a big part of the vision, The Spa by Equinox Hotels will be for everyone to visit as well. “The philosophy ‘It’s not fitness, it’s life’ has grounded Equinox—and fueled a cultural movement—for more than 25 years,” says Harvey Spevak, Equinox’ executive chairman and managing partner.

David Mizrahi, CEO and managing partner of South West Harbour and SF Investments, the development and developer respectively, believes Equinox is the perfect partner. “Their focus on high-performance living and exceptional health-driven experiences complements the unique vibrancy of our destination,” he asserts.
Port Nimara sits between two well-known properties, namely the Cap Juluca resort and the Altamer villas. That, and Anguilla’s popularity with American, Canadian, and British visitors in particular, should attract more interest.
While the marina slips will be available starting in 2027, the Equinox Resort will open in 2029. Christie’s International will handle sales for the residences, beginning early next year.
